As a certified Life Awareness™ Breath-work Instructor and Educator, I incorporate the power of the breath in my therapy work with clients.

I also provide standalone Breath-work sessions for individuals & groups.

 Join me for my monthly ‘Breathe with me’ in person, group breath-work sessions.. hosted in the studio at PAUS Cambridge.

How I work with the Breath:

Our breath influences our nervous system, emotional state and internal landscape. It is connected to SO many systems in the body. I’ll help you connect those dots through your breath.

Optimal breath patterns and breathing exercises strengthen the connection to our body and our mind. I will help you to take control and understand your body more fully.

Education goes hand in hand with experience. You will not only expand your knowledge, but you will also access ‘altered states’ to help release blockages and reach your highest potential and preferred state.

Many of my clients discover that they are not breathing properly due to posture, anxiety, stress, emotional blockages or just bad breathing habits. When we are anxious we shallow breathe up in our chest, more rapidly and even hold our breath. This sends out stress signals and can contribute to anxiety and panic attacks. When we aren’t breathing we are stifling many of our body functions.

By learning how to consciously breathe more deeply into the diaphragm and use all our respiratory muscles we regain control over our most valuable resource and gain control of our states of being. This also stimulates the vagus nerve which is the main nerve of the parasympathetic nervous system, this is what helps us regulate and come back to a calm, rest and digest state.

Breathing can change your blood PH (acid/alkaline) in minutes. No food, exercise or medication acts as quickly.

You can often determine your dominant nervous system state simply by placing your finger underneath your nostrils and exhaling.

Contraindications
Breath-work may result in certain specific physiological changes in the body and also may result in intense physical and emotional release. As a precaution, the following conditions are contraindicated in certain breathwork practices. Please discuss with me!
These include:
  • Pregnancy
  • Detached Retina
  • Glaucoma
  • High Blood Pressure (not controlled with medication)
  • Cardiovascular disease including angina, previous heart attack or stroke.
  • Diagnosis of aneurysm in the brain or abdomen
  • Uncontrolled diabetes and thyroid conditions
  • Asthma – if applicable, please bring an inhaler to the session.
  • Epilepsy
  • Prior diagnosis of bipolar disorder, schizophrenia or previous psychiatric condition.
  • Hospitalisation for any psychiatric condition or emotional crisis within the last 10 years.
  • Any other medical, psychiatric or physical conditions which would impair or affect ability to engage in any activities that involve intense physical and/or emotional release.
Potential participants may wish to consult with their primary care doctor before engaging in breath-work sessions.

Terms & Conditions of booking: As with all my client work, payments are due in full 72 hours before your session. At least 48 hours’ notice is required for any rescheduled bookings. Otherwise, the session is deemed to have taken place.
